Country Dairy, Inc. is a Centennial Farm, which means it has been owned by the same family for over 100 years! They have been processing and bottling milk in West Michigan since 1983.

Country Dairy not only offers tours of their farm, they have a delicious restaurant and pizza shop, gift shop, deli and of course ICE CREAM! They even have a drive thru and are only a short drive past Lewis Farm Market and Petting Zoo in New Era.

If you don’t have time for a tour, it’s still a great place to grab something to eat, pick up some local dairy and meat, and let the little kids play on the playground to burn off some energy.

Farm Tour

Country Dairy offers Farm Tours all summer and by appointment at other times. Start at the Moo School and watch a fun video to learn more about the farm. Ask a few questions, then jump on the tour wagon to the bottling plant. The tours last about an hour and half, and all three of my little kids enjoyed it.

After the bottling plant, you will walk around outside and meet the heifers (pregnant cows), cows, bulls, and calves. Did you know that their cows eat about 100lbs of food each day? That’s like us eating 400 cheeseburgers!

They have over 1,500 cows and EVERY ONE has a name!

The latest at the farm is that the cows now MILK THEMSELVES! They walk up whenever they feel like it to this robotic milking machine and eat while being milked.

At the end of the tour, you can sample their famous Premium Chocolate Milk, or try some “Moochies” (cheddar cheese curds). Check out the gift shop, grab some lunch, and play on the playground equipment.

Try some of their delicious creamy ice cream flavors and then take home a gallon of your favorite!

Annual Ice Cream Social

You do not want to miss the Annual Ice Cream Social which is always the first Saturday in July.

Advice: Plan to stay all day! The free ice cream lines are long, but there’s so much more to do! At the 2018 social we enjoyed tractors, free tours, history from MI Heritage Park interpreters, climbing wall, “Moochies” cheese samples, delicious lunch, music and more!
